All the best childhood memories start outdoors. It’s true. In fact three-quarters of adults say that their fondest summer memories are of playing outside during the school holidays. But we already knew that at Commando Kids, and that’s why we have put together lots of fun things for your children to do outdoors to ensure that they positively thrive. But not only in the summer, for we also know that the best ever fun is also to be found on the wettest muddiest days too!

The Great Outdoors

Playing outdoors is much much more valuable to your little ones than just fun! Nature play also teaches kids to break down barriers and find skills and talents they never knew they had! It enables them to use their outside voice! They get to shout louder, climb higher, be more creative and use their senses more than ever before. Throughout their time participating in our Commando Kids activities your children will develop their strength, learn through play, improvise solutions and cultivate a sense of self and place. Feeling connected to the wild in such environments as the ones we use here at Commando Kids teaches your child to feel free, and what could be more important than that?

Commando Fitness

Commando Fitness is a community driven exercise class designed to make every single member the best all round athlete. From the very beginner to the elite athlete our classes are fun, varied and challenging and is a brilliant program if you love both training indoors and outdoors.

What to Expect

Our classes offer you a full body workout with a combination of cardio, strength and core training. We base our training on fundamental movement patterns designed to maximise your efficiency in every day life and achieve a good all round athletic body. Push, pull, climb, jump, punch are key movements in our classes using a range of functional fitness equipment to challenge you physically and mentally.

HIT – High intensity training delivers a raised metabolism up to 24 hours later meaning you are still burning those calories!

Our HIT classes are mind and body changing combining cardio and resistance training for the ultimate burn.

Wild Escape Edinburgh

Escape from civilization into the tranquil and undisturbed lakes, rivers and forests of Edinburgh. You’ll canoe 40km total during the six day trip, spending your mornings trekking through the forest, practicing Yoga and learning about the natural environment. In the evening, you’ll see why it is known as “the land of the Midnight sun”—with tons of daylight, you’ll have ample time to wild swim, fish, and relax around the camp fire.

Wild Escape has been designed to help you slow down to the flow of the river and be fully present in the wilderness. Your guides on the trip are fitness, bushcraft, and wilderness experts who will teach you how to survive in the environment, enhance your fitness, center your well being—and hopefully see some resident elk and beavers along the way.

A Wilderness retreat with a difference. This provides a combination of Adventure, health and wellbeing whilst taking in the sights of Sweden by Canoe.

Wild Escape has been designed to take you away from modern civilisation and into a tranquil undisturbed environment where you can explore rivers and lakes being led by fitness, Bushcraft and canoeing experts.

As you slow down to the flow of the river your mind will be fully relaxed and present in the wilderness. Throughout the trip your instructors will teach you have to survive in the environment and also enhance your fitness and well being with morning yoga sessions. You may see the resident Elk and Beaver along the river sides if you are quiet enough.

If you want to get away from it all, learn about nature and improve your health and wellbeing this is an awesome Adventure.

This is an Adventure that will leave you rejuvenated in this serene and wild landscape.
